The Mumbai based store, with two branches in Mumbai and Pune, is now spreading its branches southward.

The Bombay Store was started as 'Bombay Swadeshi Co-operative Stores' on December 15, 1906 by late Dr. Dadabhai Naoroji, which was conceived by late Manmohandas Ramji and Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Road, the store has a vast array of contemporary merchandise including aesthetic crafts and apparel. The month-old store in Bangalore has been a crowd puller from day one. The Bombay Store is going to open branches shortly in Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, Calcutta and Delhi, according to Unit-in-charge Executive, Mr Jogi Zacharia.

"Our service is on par with any international store. We take personal care of our customers. While shopping at our store, not once will shoppers get the feeling that they are being watched, followed or hounded by our sales persons. At the same time, our Home accessories at The Bombay Storesales persons are just a glance away, when they are needed," said Managing Director, Asim Dalal at the opening ceremony of the store in Bangalore.

And the reason for opening The Bombay Store in Bangalore? Asim Dalal says, "We decided to open the store here because Bangalore today is one of the most vibrant, fashion conscious and trendy cities in India. It also attracts a lot of domestic and international leisure tourists and IT traffic."

Presently, The Bombay Store in Bangalore has a fascinating range of fragrant pot pourrie, hand-made candles, exquisitely carved figurines, statues, in different media like stone, wood and brass. Men's apprel at The Bombay StoreWall hangings, silk paintings, lamps and shades, dainty and colourful crockery and knick-knacks to adorn one's home. The store also stocks an array of fine leather goods, jewellery aromatic herbs, spices, aromatherapy oils, exotic salves and fragrant candles. Children too have a wide choice of trendy clothes and lovely toys here.
