Born in 1928, Nanumal Gangaram arrived in Bangalore in 1959
to start a printing press called Mohan Press. After four years in
the business, he decided to start Bangalore Book Bureau in
250 square feet of space in the city area, his daily sales amounting
to Rs.50 or Rs.100. By 1969, it had expanded to 3000 sq.ft. In 1977
the 'Gangarams Book Bureau' moved to M.G.Road, into the 2750
sq.ft. first floor space. From the start it has been a success story,
with N.Gangaram leading the business to occupy 3 floors, Bangalore's
largest. His name occupies pride of place with every book lover in
the city. The store now has sections on stationery and cards, professional
books and general reading.

Coming
from a family which has set up one of the oldest businesses in Bangalore,
Prestige Garments, Irfan Razack is a businessman who always
looks one step ahead of his contemporaries. In the 1980s, when Bangalore's

today. An active Rotarian, he is also President of the Builders' Association
of Bangalore, which, among other things, attempts to regulate buildings
in the city to aesthetic and safe standards.
Managing Director - Indo - American Hybrid Seeds
Born at Karkal (Dakshina Kannda) and having a string of degrees to
his credit, Dr Manmohan Attavar started his career as a 'Plant
Breeder' at Pan American Seed Co.,USA. Dr Attavar returned to India
in 1965 and singly founded the Indo American Hybrid Seeds (AIHS)
enterprise at Bangalore. In 30 years IAHS has grown under his competent
and far sighted leadership. Dr Attavar has been nominated as an expert
on the board of several National and International organisations including
the Scientific Advisory Committee-Ministry of Commerce; Federation
of International Seedsmen-Switzerland; Board of Directors - National
Horticulture Board, etc. For his rich contribution to the horticultural
farming community, Dr Attavar has won many laurels, among them
are - Eminent Horticulturist Award by the Horticultural Society of
India, Export Award for 1991 and 1992-93, etc. He is married to Martha
Mamtha and they have two children, Santosh and Rashmi.
