Deepak
Nakra is the Managing Director of the city-based iCOPE
Technologies, a software house which focuses on emerging
technologies in the domains of Telecommunications & Unified
Messaging, Internet Applications and GroupWare. He pursued his
Masters in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg,
Germany. Subsequently, he joined Spiegel-Verlag (a leading
publishing house in Germany), where he worked on special system
related applications like word processor, generic report generators
and newspaper archival and retrieval systems.
After moving to India in 1983, he worked with Thomson Press
and Living Media as EDP Manager, where he acquired an in
depth knowledge about setting up and running publishing industry
specific applications. During his stint as the Director & Executive
Vice President of Business Solutions Division (after holding
position as Marketing Manager) in Mumbai's Rolta India Ltd,
he took the responsibility of corporate planning, business development
and operations of software development, data processing centre
and software package development for the US and European markets.
He set up InterCope (India) Pvt. Ltd in Bangalore in
1991 to address the needs of software for communication solutions,
especially the German market. Today, InterCope is renamed as
iCOPE Technologies Pvt. Ltd and Deepak Nakra heads this highly
professional software house which focuses on emerging technologies.
