Prof. K E Radhakrishna
- A Profile
Prof. K E Radhakrishna, Principal of Sheshadripuram
College, is not just an educationist but a multi faceted
personality. He
is a writer, social activist, actor, orator and artiste.
He has spent the last 28 years in the service of education
and has been the longest serving principal of Sheshadripuram
College. He has brought the college to a prestigious position
among the educational institutions of Karnataka.
As the President of Karnataka State Principals Association
he has served the cause of teachers. He was also the President
of All Indian Colleges Forum, presently of which he is the
vice President. He was the Secretary of the College Teachers
Association. He is the member of an Expert Committee of
University Grants Commission, New Delhi to assess the
performance of Universities and colleges in the States of
Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. He is an associate fellow of
National Institute of Advance Studies and expert member
of National Assessment and Accreditation Council. He
is on the governing Council of several autonomous colleges
of Tamil Nadu.
Having participated in several international conferences
held in various countries including the USA, Prof. Radhakrishna
has presented several papers on English literature, ancient
and modern Indian system of education.
He served most of the bodies of Bangalore University
in its syndicate academic council and local inspection committees.
He is the member of Faculty of Arts and Board of students
in English of Bangalore University.
Himself an artiste in Yakshagana, he has always
encouraged his college students to participate in cultural
activities in a big way. Prof. Radhakrishna has acted
in dramas and few Kannada films as well. He is the member
of Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy. He is a regular
broadcaster on AIR and has produced documentaries for DD.
Apart from editing English text books of Bangalore University
he has translated books into Kannada for National Book
Trust of India. He has been writing on contemporary literary,
educational and social issues for Kannada and English newspapers.
