Vice Chairman of Wipro, Mr. Vivek Paul is likely to be the leading
person of the country with the highest paid professional executive
as he took home an annual salary of Rs. 5.7 crore including incentives
and commission for the year ending March 31, 2004.
According to the latest filings before the Securities and Exchange
Commission, US, Azim Premji's salary was Rs. 1.8 crore. The difference
in the salary was on account of the differing commissions paid.
Azim Premji's commission is at the rate of 0.1% of Wipro's net profits
and Vivek Paul's is 0.3%. Other top management executives like Mr.
Suresh Senapathy, CFO, took home Rs. 68.04 lakh, Mr. Girish Paranjpe,
President, finance and insurance Wipro Technologies took Rs. 53.15
lakh, Mr. Suresh Vaswani President, Wipro InfoTech, Rs. 57.28 lakh,
Mr. Vineet Agrawal, president Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting,
Rs. 55.71 lakh. Mr. Vivek Paul also holds 3.97 lakh Wipro shares
including Esops granted by the company.
