This place is an ideal habitat to view nature at its best. Lets hope it remains that way for a long timDandelie to come! The Dandeli Game Sanctuary is home to some rare species like the barking deer, sloth bear, panther, sambar and gaur. The elephants, wild dogs and mongoose move freely here.

As a treat for the adventurous kind there is a cave perched up on the middle of a steep rock. Work your way up there a you will see a natural formation of stalactites and stalagmites which is naturally revered as....? you guessed it (?!) a ShivaLinga!

MURUDESHWAR

Bound by the sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the Murudeshwar Templeother Murudeshwar is a favorite with honeymooners.

The temple embodies a Linga which erupted, as legend goes, when Ravana flung off the covering on the Jyotir Linga that he had placed down at Gokarna.

A Fort renovated by Tipu Sultan, and another shrine of Jattiga on a horse will round off the trip nicely.
