& software, automobiles (Bidadi, 33 kms from Bangalore
has the Toyota plant and Narsapur on NH 4, towards Kolar has the
Volvo plant), light engineering industries,
garments, floriculture, tissue culture (Indo American

BANKING SECTOR
This sector is one of the show pieces of the country, what with some
of the reputed banks having their HQs in Karnataka. Corporation
Bank, Canara Bank, Vysya Bank, Syndicate Bank, Vijaya Bank, Karnataka
Bank, State Bank of Mysore to name
a few.
EXPORTS
Silk is one of the prime export commodities from Karnataka
with the silk exchange located here. Other items include
granite & minerals, software, electronic goods, handicrafts
& manpower.
