Traditional master bamboo weavers from the villages of Belgaum have carried on this ancestral profession for many years.

Bamboo being cut into strips The forests of Belgaum provide the bamboo that is used in the making of beautiful handicraft. The bamboo has to be cut into strips of equal breadth and thickness, a skill that takes years to master.

Nimble fingers work to transform the strips into baskets of various shapes and sizes.
