CHITRA SANTHE – “ART FOR ALL” |
This event will spread out from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath on to the Kumara Krupa Road. This one-day event will feature artist’s from all over the Country. It is an unique opportunity to showcase art to the public. The event will display affordable art like Paintings, Graphic Prints, Miniature formats, Sculpture and much more.
This is an attempt to bring art to the public to make art a part of everyday life. It also introduces affordable visual art to all. |
Over 1,500 artists from across the country are expected to turn up for the unique ''Chitra Santhe'' on Sunday 30th Jan 2011. The Santhe, a street art festival, is being organised by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (KCP) for the seventh consecutive year. Lakhs of art lovers thronged Kumara Krupa Road on the first day of Chitra Santhe 2010, The main aim of the Santhe is to provide artists a platform to showcase their creativity and contribution towards art. Paintings, sculptures, cartoons and art installations will be part of the displays. The santhe helps identify and encourage young artists, while educating people about art and its importance. The aim is also to make art affordable and available to all sections of society. Students and teachers from the 32 art schools in the State are expected to participate this year. An audio-visual presentation on the State’s rich cultural heritage will also be organised on the occasion. |
